Volunteers Recognized at Annual Event

BATH, NY – Twelve volunteers were recognized for exemplary service to Davenport & Taylor at a breakfast ceremony that took place recently at Ira Davenport Memorial Hospital. Together, the group members have donated a total of 7,114 hours of their time to the organization. That figure represents a savings of approximately $51,000 (based on 7,114 hours paid at minimum wage).

The following is a list of “Shining Stars,” or volunteers whose personal totals have met or exceeded 1,000 hours and were recognized this year by name.

Typical volunteer duties include clerical work, staffing the gift shop, assisting with activities and adult day care services in the Fred & Harriett Taylor Health Center, and serving as courier/transport assistants.

The Davenport & Taylor organization, founded in 1910, is comprised of a 38-bed acute care hospital, a 120-bed skilled nursing facility, and a full complement of ancillary services. It is located in the Finger Lakes region of New York State between the villages of Bath and Hammondsport.
